Red, white and blue are the colors of the day for the 109th Annual Huntington Beach Fourth of July parade. Annette Arreola reports for the NBC4 News at Noon on Thursday July 4, 2013.

Safety officials are reminding revelers to take extra precautions when handling fireworks and encouraging them to attend public fireworks displays, instead of trying to create their own.

Only fireworks deemed "Safe and Sane" are allowed in 32 cities in Los Angeles County. To learn if your city is among those municipalities, click here. For more information on how to celebrate safely, visit SafeJuly4th.org
