Hollywood Nightclub Shooting Wounds Two; Suspect Arrested

Police also investigate second shooting nearby just minutes later

Two men were wounded in a shooting outside a Hollywood Boulevard night club early Friday, and one suspect has been detained, police said.

The shooting happened about 2:15 a.m. at Club Eden, near Schrader and Hollywood boulevards, according to a Los Angeles police lieutenant.

Fire department officials had been clearing out the club because it was overcrowded when shots rang out in a nearby parking lot, said Commander Dennis Kato of the Los Angeles Police Department.

One victim was struck in the hip and another in the buttock, Kato said. He said the injuries were serious, but not considered life-threatening.

LAPD gang detectives were handling the investigation.

Police were also investigating a second shooting nearby, on Ivar just south of Hollywood Boulevard, about 10 minutes later.

About five to 10 minutes after that shooting, a man in a car fired at four women in another car. The suspected shooter ran and three other men in the suspect's vehicle were detained and being questioned.
