Our on-air coverage will begin at 3 p.m. with a special edition of NBC4 News. You will be able to watch the broadcast on-air on Channel 4, and online at NBCLA.com.

NBC Nightly News will then take over from 3:30 p.m. We will be livestreaming that broadcast also, at NBCLA.com.

At 4 p.m., election coverage outside of the newscast format will begin, as NBC News offers live coverage of Election Day and begins to look at results as the polls close on the East Coast. This coverage will be available on Channel 4 and on NBCLA.com.

Election night stories, results and livestreams will be easily accessible on our Decision 2012 page. Background information and the latest news on Southern California races and ballot propositions is also available in our 2012 Election Guide photo gallery.

Local results will be announced via cut-ins on air as they come in, starting at around 8 p.m., when the polls close in California.

Our web team will be constantly updating local, state and national results on NBCLA.com, and we will also post information on our Twitter account, @NBCLA, and on our Facebook page.

Coverage will continue at both the local and national level on Channel 4 until at least 1 p.m., on NBCLA.com and on TV.

We've also started an Instagram campaign so our viewers can show their voting spirit. Post pictures of yourself with your "I voted" sticker or a stub from a mail-in ballot, and be sure to use the hashtag #socalvotes.

We'll make a gallery with the best pictures, and show them on air, too.
