Four people were in custody Monday in connection with an armed robbery and a high-speed pursuit that ended in a crash in Van Nuys, police said.
A man robbed about 10 a.m. in a Sherman Oaks parking garage reported that one of the thieves had a handgun, according a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman.
LAPD officers set up a search area near Kester Avenue and Victory Boulevard in Van Nuys, where a white four-door Jaguar possibly related to the incident had crashed, police said.
Inside the car were two men and two women, police said. The two men ran but were later taken into custody, police said.
All four were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police searched for a fifth person that a witness said was let out of the car in Sherman Oaks. No one was found.
Police with a K-9 dog could be seen searching a Van Nuys residential street, where a suspect matching the description of one of the robbers was thought to be hiding, police said. The house suspected of harboring one thief was later cleared.

Resident Katie Winters said she fled from her home after noticing that her back door was open and being warned by a neighbor that a man was in her backyard.
"Very scary. I've been shaking," she said. "It's really intimidating when somebody sees a man with a gun in your house."
Police found a gun and drugs believed to have belonged to the wanted man.
