Two teens were struck by lightning on a Florida beach Tuesday afternoon.
The older victim, Jansen Tabor, 18, told police that they made a dash for shelter when the storm began, but the next thing he knew, he woke up on the sand, NBC affiliate WFLA reported.
Pediatric nurse Cassandra Thomas saw the boys on the beach from her condo and rushed to help. She gave CPR to 15-year-old Cameron Poimboeuf.
"Start CPR. Don't give up. Just keep working and working, working; you just can't give up," Thomas told reporters.
Kirk Pattison, a vacationing Illinois police office, joined in to assist Thomas.
"If you were in that situation, you'd want somebody to help so, especially with children," Pattison said.
Tabor is in good condition, while Poimboeuf was in critical condition but now is listed as being in serious condition.
