They say every Hollywood waiter has a screenplay in their back pocket. Creative Screenwriting magazine's annual Screenwriting Expo gives them a rare chance to go from pitching the trash to pitching execs.

The five-day event running through October 18 at the Wilshire Grand Hotel features industry guest speakers, panel discussions, and networking opportunities for screenwriters, producers, agents, and directors.

Several seminars including "The Golden Pitch" and "Cyberspace Open" give hopefuls a chance to schmooze with some of Hollywood's big names. Friday's speakers include Anthony Zuiker, creator/executive producer of the CSI franchise; James Manos, creator of the Showtime series "Dexter;" Deborah Spera, president of television for the Mark Gordon Company (Lifetime's "Army Wives," ABC's "Grey's Anatomy"); and David Shore, executive producer and creator of "House."

In addition, several Exhibitors will be showcasing their Hollywood wares including makers of Final Draft, iScript, and ActOne.
