Big Bad Voodoo Daddy Summons 2010

Razzmatazzing in 2010.

There are a handful of bands that truly rule the Yule and the week leading up to the new year, and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is pretty much the king of the hill.

Not only do they have a Christmas album called "Everything You Want for Christmas" (the Christmas album is mandatory if a band wants to make a run for ruling the season, and this one has a cover of "Mr. Heat Miser" -- bonus), but their swinging, cool-cat sound just fits with a lot of the raise-a-glass-of-cheer holiday standards, many of which were written in the era Big Bad Voodoo Daddy celebrates.

So the annual end-of-the-year, December-chilled concerts? Very stylish, very seasonal, brimming with all things brassy and classy. Okay, maybe not totally classy -- this is, after all, the act that gave the world "You & Me & the Bottle Make Three Tonight," one of the best (and most damaged) love songs of the last 20 years -- but exceedingly hip.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is making for Walt Disney Concert Hall on Thursday, December 31st, there will be two shows (7PM and 10:30PM) and the adios-ing of 2009 and the welcoming of 2010 will be the celebratory theme.

Bet the later show will include a countdown to boot. Sassy and classy, BBVD. Sassy and classy.
