Cell phone video surfaced Friday showing a surfer in Australia rescuing a kangaroo.
Surfer Neil McCallum was on a morning run with his son when a young kangaroo jumped across their path and went straight into the surf. The riptide pulled the marsupial out to sea.
"He stopped right here, right in front of the water and I went, 'Wow, it is a kangaroo. That's pretty incredible.' And boom, dives in the water and starts swimming out to sea," McCallum said.
McCallum said he went home and got his board. He paddled out to the kangaroo and guided the animal back to shore.
His wife captured the rescue on her cell phone.
