Giving Props to the Home Planet

There may be millions and millions and millions of us, but we've only got one lovely, watery, giant, complex, and ultimately fragile address. Thank goodness Earth Day came along back in 1970 to remind us to not take our planet for granted.

LA's got several of be-good-to-our-globe to-dos on Wednesday, April 22:

We do like a tune-filled party in the park, and if we can find someone to take our fizzled-out old TV for safe disposal, so much the better. Haul those electronics you don't want (televisions, computers, etc.) to Wilshire Center for free recycling. Music, dance, a vege-packed farmers market, kid activities and other to-dos are on the schedule. And there's a fruit tree giveaway!  Get the details... 11AM-2PM.  3700 Wilshire Boulevard.

Oh, did we mention it is Car Free Day in LA to boot? In other words, let those boots do the walking.

The Green Dot Awards are turning the spotlight on environment-aware businesses.

And Farmers Market welcomes Heal the Bay from 11AM-2PM. Get info on this nice, marine-minded organization at the Market Plaza area. Bonus: free totes!
