Paley Center Fall TV Previews

Our own TV-loving institution once again provides a few sneak peeks.

Television's reach is far and wide, or so every media professor ever has said. But it is also deep, at least here in Los Angeles, which remains TV's home address, even if productions and shows visit other cities from time to time, even setting up shop elsewhere on occasion.

There are benefits to being TV's home address, of course; we've got the Paley Center for Media, here in Beverly Hills, and they've got the contact info on all the people making the new shows. (Yep, New York, we know you have a Paley Center, too; props).

And each fall, the Paley lines up a bunch of free sneak peeks, which, yes, you can find a lot of online, but also the people who make and star in the shows as well. It's Fall TV Preview Week, and it kicks off on Wednesday, Sept. 5 with NBC Night: "Revolution," "Go On," "Animal Practice," and "Chicago Fire" are all on deck for previews. "The New Normal" will also get its own panel, which will include creator Ryan Murphy.

CBS is next on Thursday, Sept. 6 -- look for "Vegas" and "Made in Jersey," among the previews -- and The CW is up on Saturday, Sept. 8 ("Beauty and the Beast" is one show getting the look-first treatment).

Fox and ABC roll at the beginning of the following week.

If the night you want to see is already booked solid -- reservations should be made for the free events -- the Paley will be live-streaming the panels, so yay that.

It's fall and it's new TV time. Yep, television launches all year long these days, but there's still something to early September and the new line-up of sitcoms and dramas. TV, we high five your traditions.
