Pink's, LAX Start Beautiful Friendship

Beginning this fall, international travelers passing through LAX will be able to dine on a Los Angeles culinary specialty -- Pink's Hot Dogs.

"LAX is delighted to add this legendary Hollywood eatery to the dining opportunities in Tom Bradley International Terminal," said Gina Marie Lindsey, executive director of Los Angeles World Airports, the city agency that operates Los Angeles International Airport.

Pink's has been a wildly popular dining spot in Hollywood for years, occupying the same location on La Brea and Melrose Avenue since 1939. The hot dog stand is easily spotted, thanks to the lengthy line of diners who flock to the eatery day and night.

Pink's owner Richard Pink said opening an airport location was a sensible move, given the eatery's popularity among locals and tourists alike.

"This allows visitors from all over the world to experience Pink's and its famous hot dogs, whether they plan a stop in Hollywood or not," Pink said.

Bob Stanton, vice president of airport food contractor Delaware North Travel Hospitality Services, said the addition of Pink's if part of an effort to provide a wider variety of dining and drinking options at LAX.

"We're on a constant quest to find innovative brands and unique retail dining experiences reflecting the local flair and cultures of the cities where we do business," he said.

Pink's also has a location at the Hollywood Park Casino in Inglewood and at the Planet Hollywood casino/hotel in Las Vegas.
