15-Year-Old Boy Shot, Wounded Near LAPD's 77th Street Station

A 15-year-old boy was shot and wounded Monday outside a police station in South Los Angeles in what's suspected to have been a gang-related attack.

The shooting was reported at 4:10 p.m. in the 7600 block of Broadway, near the Los Angeles Police Department's 77th Street Station, police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was in critical condition, according to Officer Liliana Preciado of the LAPD's Media Relations Section.

The victim was shot after being approached by two male suspects, Preciado said.

Investigators said they believe the shooting was gang-related, according to Preciado, who did not elaborate.

Officers cordoned off the area to conduct a perimeter search for the suspects.
