Two women were caught by an Anaheim church's surveillance cameras entering rooms and shoving stolen items into their purses during a service on Sunday.
Surveillance video from the Faith Lutheran Church of West Anaheim shows the two brazen thieves entering the building just before 10 a.m., apparently while a service was in session, according to the Anaheim Police Department.
Multiple videos of the surveillance footage were posted on the church's Facebook page, calling for help in identifying the "heartless" women who stole the church pastor's wallet, keys and phone, the post read.
"Who would steal from a church?" one of the posts said. "Who would steal from a servant of God? Well, apparently these ladies would."
According to the church, the women also stole an honorarium check and a box of scones.
On Monday afternoon, pastor Vicki Rufsvold wrote on Facebook thanking the community for their prayers and support.
"We forgive the women that took our stuff and pray for them," she wrote. "We'll do whatever we can to alert our neighbors so that they might be safe."
