Schools Across Southern California Closed Due to Fire Impact, Power Outages

Dozens of schools are closed across Southern California due to the impact of wildfires and preventative power outages as the strongest Santa Ana wind event in a decades blows through the region.

Los Angeles County School Closures

The following Los Angeles Unified School District schools will remain closed on Wednesday, Oct. 30 due to the Getty Fire:

  • Brentwood Elementary
  • Canyon Elementary
  • Community Magnet
  • Kenter Canyon Elementary
  • Marquez Elementary
  • Palisades Elementary
  • Palisades Charter High School
  • Revere Middle School
  • Roscomare Elementary
  • Topanga Elementary
  • Warner Elementary
Other Getty Fire closures:
  • The Brentwood School, the East Campus and West Campus
  • All Malibu schools are closed, including Malbu Elementary School, Malibu Middle School, Malibu High School, Webster Elementary School, the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District said.
  • ll Malibu preschools are closed Wednesday.
Other closures:
  • All schools in the Las Virgenes Unified School District will be closed Wednesday out of an abundance of caution and expected power outages.

Ventura County School Closures

Due to high winds and the potential for power shutoffs, the Ventura County Office of Education announced the following closures for Wednesday, Oct. 30:

  • ACE Charter High School
  • Briggs School District
  • Fillmore Unified School District
  • Mupu School District
  • Santa Clara Elementary School District
  • Santa Paula Unified School District

These campuses are closed due to the Easy Fire burning in the Simi Valley area:

All Ventura County Unified School District schools are on fall break and not in session.
