‘Donut Boy' Thanks Law Enforcement Across the Country With Sweet Treats

"Some people are mean to them so I want to thank them and let them know that people still care, " said Donut Boy, Tyler Carach.

A boy from Alabama is celebrating his 10th birthday with a sweet mission to celebrate police officers across the country.

Tyler Carach is visiting 10 states in 10 days and thanking law enforcement along the way by giving them a treat that's often associated with cops: doughnuts.

"Some people are mean to them so I want to thank them and let them know that people still care, " Tyler said.

His mission has earn him the moniker "Donut Boy." On Thursday, he visited the Long Beach Police Department and made the sweet and special delivery.

"When he met the first four deputies a year ago he had this wonderful idea that he was going to thank every single cop in America," said Tyler's mother, Sheena Carach, a former police officer.

So far, Tyler's delivered more than 32,000 donuts to police officers.

"He's one of the catalyst for kindness and to be able to see this nine-year-old spread kindness around the country is crazy," said Officer Jason Lehman of the Long Beach Police Department.

The Long Beach Police Department thanked Tyler with a helicopter ride and a boat tour of the port. Back on land, a birthday party included time with a police K-9 and a motorcycle.

Both Tyler and his mother admit the traveling can be exhausting, but they believe in the message they're spreading.

"We are a family that's very compassionate and we believe in doing our part to make the world a better place," Sheena said. "There's a lot of people in the world that say they want to see change, they want the world to be a better place, but they don't do anything about it and we are firm believers you have to be the change you want to see."

And Tyler wants to create change, one doughnut at a time.
