Suspect Arrested, One Victim Identified in Moreno Valley Shooting

A woman and a 15-year-old boy were fatally shot inside a Moreno Valley home on Friday

One of two people fatally shot at a Moreno Valley home has been identified and deputies believe they have the person responsible in custody, officials said.

Chelsea Crisp, 37, and an unidentified 15-year-old boy were shot Friday morning before dawn in the 24000 block of Myers Avenue.

Rufus Hodges, 48, was arrested at about 10 a.m. Friday in the 25000 block of Alessandro Boulevard, jail records showed, according to City News Service.

Deputies were called to the location to investigate reports of a man with a gun around 4:45 a.m.

Crisp was found dead. The boy died later at a hospital.

The boy's identity was withheld pending notification of family, the coroner said.

Officials with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, which is contracted to police Moreno Valley, said in a press release that all of the parties involved in the shooting have been identified and there are no outstanding suspects.

However, jail records showed that Hodges was booked Friday night into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside, where he was being held today in lieu of $1 million bail. He had a court date scheduled for Tuesday, City News Service reported.

Sheriff's department officials said they would have more details on Monday.
