Brown told Jay Leno about the hours spent with the Cup after the Kings finished off New Jersey, 6-1, in Game 6 Monday of the Stanley Cup Final at Staples Center.

"We were on the ice for a while. Then the boys got together in the locker room for another couple hours," Brown said. "Then we stayed at Staples for another couple hours. Then the boys took it back to the North End bar in Hermosa for a couple more hours."

He spoke with NBC4 after the taping of "The Tonight Show." Brown and his teammates grew beards during the season, but he shaved as soon as he arrived home early Wednesday.

"I didn't even wait until I woke up -- I just did it right before I went to bed," he said. "It feels good.

"I didn't trim it or anything. It got a little annoying at the end."

Leno asked Brown, 27, about what he has planned for the Cup. He tweeted a picture of it early Tuesday and plans to take it back to Ithaca, N.Y., where he was born.

"But the biggest thing I've done so far -- three kids under 4, they all drank chocolate milk out of it this morning," Brown said. "They're excited about it."

The Kings and the Cup will be part of a parade and celebration scheduled for Thursday. Watch live coverage on NBC4 and NBCLA.com, starting at 11 a.m.
