Police Identify Man Killed Outside of Crenshaw Barber Shop

The customer tried to run after the barber was shot, but police say the gunmen shot him point-blank in the middle of the street.

Police have identified a man killed outside of a Crenshaw Boulevard barber shop as 46-year-old Trammel Walker.

Walker died at the scene of the shooting near the Magic Shears Barber Shop at about 7 p.m. Saturday.

Another man, believed to be a barber at the shop, was injured.

"Two young men were walking up and down the sidewalk in front of the barber shop,"  said LAPD Capt. Dennis Kato, of the 77th Division Station.

When the barber came outside to confront them, one of them opened fire on him," Kato said.

A customer inside the barber shop then tried to run away but he was also shot, Kato said.

"The decedent runs out of the barber shop tried to get away," said Kato. "They shot him, he falls in the middle of the street, they run up on him, shot him one more time and fled into the neighborhood."
