Police Chase Vehicle Driven by Kidnapping Suspect in Palmdale Area

Police were chasing a vehicle driven by a kidnapping suspect in the Palmdale area Thursday night.

NewsChopper4 Alpha's Eliana Moreno was overhead as the red Toyota was driving at high speeds on the southbound (405) freeway.

According to Palmdale Sheriffs, a woman was at Melville J. Courson Park with a group of men that offered her a ride in their vehicle. Shortly after, the woman said her boyfriend was supposed to pick her up from the park but the two individuals in the car refused to let her out.

The woman, whose name has yet to be released, texted her boyfriend saying she was being held against her will.

Eventually, the boyfriend caught up with the vehicle the woman was in and tried to get the men to let her out but they refused. The boyfriend flagged down officers and the chase begun at around 10:50 p.m.

After about an hour and a half, the pursuit came to an end when the vehicle ran out of fuel on the (405) freeway in the city of Irvine.

The vehicle was seen on the southbound Harbor (11) Freeway in Gardena, the norhtbound Long Beach (710) Freeway, the southbound San Di ego (405) Freeway in Signal Hill and the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway in Westminster.

Two males, one of them disabled, and the female were taken into custody without any injuries and were taken to Palmdale Sheriffs for questioning.
