Rain Moves Into Southland

LOS ANGELES -- After a glorious weekend of sunshine, rain moved into the Southland on Monday.

The rain could continue into the evening, with a 30 percent chance of precipitation. No rain is expected on Tuesday. The high for Monday is 70 degrees, with a low of 54.

Record temperatures were set over the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
 
On Saturday, Long Beach heated up to 84 degrees, tying the record set in 1967; and the Santa Monica Pier reached 86 degrees, breaking the record of 78 set in 1992.

UCLA recorded a high of 85 degrees on Saturday, breaking the record of 80, also set in 1992.
