Authorities announced a $50,000 reward Friday in the case of a Venice restaurant employee who was stabbed and left to die in the street after finishing his shift.
Guillermo Perez was stabbed early Monday morning near Pacific Avenue and Washington Boulevard. He had just left work at one job and was headed to another when he was attacked at about midnight.
Officials with the city of Los Angeles announced the $50,000 reward Friday for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
Co-workers at Mercede's Grill described Perez as a hard worker who held two jobs and worked about 15 hours per day. He was trying to make enough money to return to Oaxaca, Mexico, according to friends.
"This happened not long after midnight in a busy area with restaurants and clubs," said Los Angeles councilmember Mike Bonin. "Somebody had to have seen something."
