Authorities are warning the public that they may have been the victims of a sophisticated credit card scam at a Temple City gas station.
Police are urging recent patrons of the Mobil gas station to monitor their bank accounts and credit reports for unauthorized or fraudulent credit activity.
Crooks used card "skimming" devices designed to record customers' credit card information at a Mobil station at 5319 Baldwin Ave.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies seized the devices Aug. 8 from two separate gas pumps.
Temple Station detectives are asking citizens to call the Sheriff's Department at 626-285-7171 to report any suspicious subjects, who do not appear to be gas station employees, tampering with the gas pumps at any gas station.
