Yasiel Puig has one Heck of a Day Off in Toronto

Similar to "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig had one heck of a day off himself in Toronto on Thursday.

TORONTO – In baseball off days are few and far between. Most Major Leaguers take advantage of the rare time off to relax, study film, or spend time with a loved one.

Yasiel Puig is not most Major Leaguers.

The Los Angeles Dodgers right-fielder had one hell of a Thursday in Toronto as he went fishing with Adrian Gonzalez, walked along the edge of the CN Tower with Charlie Culberson, and caught a Toronto Raptors playoff game with closer Kenley Jansen.

After arriving at 3AM on Thursday from Tampa Bay, the Dodgers literally had all day to spend in the city of Toronto before they open up a three-game series against the Blue Jays on Friday.

The morning began early as Puig and teammate Adrian Gonzalez headed out to do some fishing. Puig tweeted a picture of his first catch of the day at 4:48 AM PST (7:48 in Toronto).

Not to be outdone, Gonzalez caught a bigger fish – a whopping 24-pound salmon – a few minutes later. Gonzalez shared the video of his big catch while Puig did his best Rocky impression using the salmon as a punching bag.

Later in the afternoon, Puig continued his fun-filled day with a trip to the CN Tower with teammate Charlie Culberson. Puig and Culberson participated in the infamous "Edge Walk" where tourists can walk along the edge of the 1,815-foot building in Toronto.

While an early morning fishing trip and an adrenaline filled walk along the tallest building in Toronto may be enough for most people, Puig wasn't done with his day yet. Doing his best Ferris Bueller impression, the Cuban slugger headed to Air Canada Centre in the evening with closer Kenley jansen for the Toronto Raptors second-round NBA Playoffs game against the Miami Heat.

Puig and Jansen sat courtside behind the basket where they watched Kyle Lowry lead the Raptors past Dwayne Wade and the Heat in overtime 96-92.
