Man Who Fell Off Ladder and Was Severely Cut by Chainsaw Is Identified

The victim suffered a severed arm and serious cut to his neck, according to Pasadena officials

The coroner's office Monday publicly identified a man who fell off a ladder and was severely cut by a chainsaw in Pasadena.

Robert Milliken, 59, was found dead at about 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, outside his house in the 2900 block of New York Drive, according to the coroner's office and Pasadena authorities.

A relative who hadn't heard from Milliken in a number of days contacted the Pasadena police and asked them to check on him, according to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

"On arrival, officers located the victim, a lifeless male adult,'' Pasadena police Chief Philip Sanchez said. "Evidence at the scene suggested the victim suffered fatal lacerations while attempting to trim a large tree branch."

Milliken suffered a severed arm and serious cut to his neck, according to Pasadena officials. It appeared the man was up on a ladder using a chainsaw when he fell, Pasadena Fire Department spokeswoman Lisa Derderian said. Police were investigating the death as an apparent accident.
