Obama Signs $1.1 Trillion Bill to Fund Gov't

President Barack Obama on Tuesday night signed into law the $1.1 trillion "cromnibus" bill to keep the federal government funded through September of next year, days after partisan wrangling in Congress over GOP-led measures in the bill forced last-minute votes. Funding for the Department of Homeland Security, however, will only be extended through Feb. 27 — Republicans will control both chambers of Congress by then. The bill's passage was the subject of political wrangling, as legislators debated changes to banking regulations and Obama's recent executive order on immigration.
