Woz Wants iPhone and Android Hybrid

Steve Wozniak, Apple cofounder and billionaire tech gadfly, has always been forthcoming with compliments for Google's human speech recognition and search engine. However, now he's told the BBC that he wishes Apple and Google could work together for a truly great smartphone.

"I wish to God that Apple and Google were partners in the future," he told the BBC. "If I were there, it would be pretty likely."

Wozniak backpeddles only slightly and continues to say that sharing information and expertise would "benefit everyone to develop the best technology," according to the BBC. He also said that licenses should be available at a reasonable price so that all phones can benefit from them.

"All our products would be better, we'd go further. I do wish they were more compatible," he said.

Despite Wozniak's wish, the latest lawsuits show that both Apple, Google and Samsung don't think the same way. Instead, today's way of dealing with competition is to sue rather than license the technology.
