Neglected Pup Gets a Makeover, Ready for a New Home

Bill, a four-year-old Lhasa-Apso mix, was found wandering around a Mission Viejo apartment complex. According to the City of Mission Viejo, his fur was so matted that you couldn’t see or feel his skin. He also had ear, skin and bladder infections.

After receiving medical care and a makeover, an abandoned dog is up for adoption and ready for a new home, the Mission Viejo Animal Services said.

Bill, a 4-year-old Lhasa-Apso mix, was found wandering around a Mission Viejo apartment complex. According to the city, his fur was so matted that you couldn't see or feel his skin. He also had ear, skin and bladder infections.

Bill was taken to the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center, where the Dedicated Animal Welfare Group, or DAWG, funded his care and a much-needed haircut.

"He immediately felt better and would rub his freshly shorn body all over the grass," Animal Services Supervisor Brynn Lavison said in a press release.

The center said Bill is now ready for adoption, though because of the neglect he has suffered, they recommend placing him in a home without children.

"Although Bill's story is sad, he deserves a happy ending," Lavison said.
