Shooting in South L.A. Turns Into Homicide Investigation

A shooting in South Los Angeles was determined a homicide investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department on Wednesday night. 

Officers responded about 7:45 p.m. to a report of a shooting in the 600 block of West 80th Street near Hoover Street and found the male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound, according to Officer Jeff Lee of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section.

The victim was taken to a hospital, Lee said, but his age and an update on his condition were not immediately available.

Two male suspects were seen leaving the location in a gray van headed west on 80th Street, Lee said.

The crime scene is still active, but its still unclear what led to the shooting.
