One convenience store employee was shot and killed and another was in critical condition after a shooting outside the business early Thursday in North Hollywood that was connected to an earlier shooting in Canoga Park.
The slaying was part of a series of overnight shootings that law enforcement sources suspect were carried out by the same man.
Both victims, a man and woman, were hospitalized after the gunfire at a Shell station near Vineland Avenue and Vanowen Street. The woman died at the hospital.
No arrests were reported early Thursday. A motive remained unclear.
The suspect in the shootings is the same person wanted in the fatal shootings of his father and brother overnight at a Canoga Park apartment, law enforcement sources told NBC4.
NBC4's Eric Leonard contributed to this report.
