Slain Mother, Son Mourned

Mourners remembered on Thursday a mother and son killed in their driveway last week in an unsolved case that prompted the Carson City Council to approve a $25,000 reward to find the killer.

The victims were shot in the 19500 block of East Tillman Avenue late Saturday night, just before midnight, according to deputy Mike Barraza of the Sheriff's Information Bureau.

Michelle Kelly-Love, 54, and 27-year-old Jordan Love were remembered at a vigil Thursday.

They were in a car with the man's grandmother and shots were fired when another vehicle pulled up to the house.

Michelle Kelly-Love died in the vehicle while it was in the driveway. The man got out of the car and made it to the lawn where he collapsed and died.

The grandmother was not injured.

Neighbors said the man was not known to be a gang member, but noted people were often seen going in and out of the house because it was also used to record music.

Anyone with information on the killing was asked to call the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500. Anonymous tips can be made by calling Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
