LOS ANGELES – Dustin Brown and Trevor Lewis each had a goal and two assists and the Los Angeles Kings needed just 96 seconds to defeat the Edmonton Oilers 5-2 on Tuesday night at Rexall Place.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After a scoreless first period had many thinking that the Kings had tired legs playing on the second night of a back-to-back, Dwight King, Michael Mersch and Tyler Toffoli all scored within 96 seconds of eachother to start the second period.

King made his season debut after missing the last 10 weeks with a broken foot and welcomed himself back to action when he snuck past Justin Schultz at the 4:22 mark in the first period and slipped a shot by Oilers goalie Cam Talbot for the game's first goal.

The floodgates opened from there as the Kings scored two more times in the next 96 seconds. First, Mersch found the back of the net for his first career NHL goal, and Toffoli followed with his 18th goal of the season and team-leading 29th point.

Edmonton head coach Todd McLellan immediately went to the bench and replaced Talbot with Anders Nilsson who didn't fare much better allowing two more goals over the final two periods.

Benoit Pouliot scored for the Oilers before Trevor Lewis made it a five-goal flurry in the second period for both teams.

Mark Letestu scored in the third period to try and get Edmonton back in the game, but Dustin Brown put the exclamation point on the night with the Kings fifth and final goal on the Oilers.
