A transition road near LAX was shut down on Monday due to a fire on a road's center median, officials said.
The southbound Sepulveda Boulevard transition to westbound Imperial Highway was shut down before 2 p.m., LAX officials said in a tweet.
Officials reported a brush fire with heavy smoke in the center median on Imperial between California and Main and to avoid the area. The flames were put out in about 35 minutes.
The fire was initially reported to have been burning in brush, but it turned out to be trash in the median and a "small amount of vegetation," officials said.
