Downtown: The economy has hit Clifton's Cafeteria hard. The iconic establishment that is approaching its 75th year of business has been down 30% in sales for the past half year, and owners have been trying to keep the eatery afloat. Although Clifton's is still open, the 47,000-square-foot building on Broadway in which it resides is currently up for sale with hopes that the buyer will "improve the building and restore it to its previous splendor while allowing the cafeteria to continue operating."
