Firefighters battled an intense blaze at a commercial building in Baldwin Park Tuesday night.
Crews from the Los Angeles County Fire Department were called at 9:06 p.m. to the 13400 block of East Dalewood Street, where they found a fire ripping through the roof, which collapsed, and flames shooting from the sides of the building.
The fire department is calling the blaze at the massive one-story warehouse a three-alarm fire due to its intensity. The building was home to a number of businesses, including an auto supply warehouse and a kitchen countertop and cabinet company.
The fire spread quickly, and had the potential to spread to adjacent commercial buildings or the lumber yard across the street. A total of 85 firefighters were assigned to the blaze.

By the time fire officials arrived Tuesday night, flames were shooting through the roof, which later collapsed.
According to Captain David Dantic of the LAFD, if weather conditions had been different, the fire could have ended differently.
"Fortunately we don’t have any wind driven, so the lumber yard was in a safe position, he said. "But we had flame lengths over thirty feet in the sky that you could see."
By 6 a.m. Wednesday morning, crews had knocked down the fire and were watching the building for hotspots.
No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
It is located just south of the Santa Monica Freeway, and a little east of the San Gabriel River Freeway.
The California Highway Patrol closed the Baldwin Park Boulevard off-ramp of the eastbound Santa Monica Freeway for two hours. Motorists were advised to avoid the area or seek alternate routes.
