WEST COVINA, Calif. -- Police are looking for a man who sexually attacked a 17-year-old girl early Wednesday morning in West Covina.
The girl was walking to Nogales High at about 6 a.m. when the man approached from behind and attacked the girl, said West Covina Police Corporal Rudy Lopez. The attack occurred just across the street from Shadow Oak Park near Shadow Oak Drive and Gemini Street. Corporal Lopez said the attacker released the victim after several minutes.
Following the attack, the girl managed to get to Nogales High School, where authorities were alerted to the incident. She suffered minor injuries.
Although the victim did not get a good look at the man's face, he is described as wearing black hooded sweatshirt, having spiked black hair and being 5 foot 8 inches tall. Police are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the man in the area to contact the department.
