"Casablanca" is one of a group of films that can truly be called classic. Staring powerhouse actors Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman, it's an iconic tale full of romance, power, betrayal and redemption.
During it's 70 year lifetime, the film has been seen by most people watching a small screen. Starting with TV reruns, moving to VHS rentals, then graduating to DVD and downloads.
But none of those mediums could match seeing the film where it started: on the big screen.
Now, during this 70th anniversary, Turner Classics has decided to put Rick and Lisa, Sam, Victor and Louie back where they belong -- in movie theatres.
On Wednesday March 21, 500 theaters across the country will feature all the intrigue and heartbreak of one of the cinematic greats.
There are no shortage of theatres willing to be a part of this event.
Across the country and throughout Southern California, AC theaters almost everywhere, from Burbank to Universal Citywalk, Monterey Park to Orange, LA Live to Lancaster, are gladly giving up a screen, starting at 7 p.m. local time.
