Police shot and wounded a person who was allegedly armed with a weapon in Santa Ana on Sunday, officials say.
The shooting took place in the 800 block of Townsend Street, according to the Santa Ana Police Department. No officers were injured.
The person was struck in the lower body and taken to the hospital in stable condition.
Police did not immediately say what led to the shooting.
A weapon was recovered at the scene, Santa Ana police spokesman Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said.
