Serial Groper Sought in Monrovia

Police are searching for a groper in connection with at least three attacks on women in Monrovia over the past two months.

The most recent incident happened about 8 a.m. Friday when the attacker groped a 23-year-old woman who was walking near Huntington Drive and Canyon Boulevard, the Monrovia Police Department said in a press release. The attacker approached the victim from behind, wrapped his right arm around her waist and used his left hand to grab her buttocks.

“The suspect said, ‘Hey baby,’ as he assaulted the victim,” police said.

When the woman screamed for help, the attacker took off running, police said. She was not injured.

Police said the sexual attack was similar in nature to two others that occurred last month. One attack happened at 5th and Walnut avenues, and the other took place a block away along Chestnut Avenue. In both cases, the groper took off on a skateboard, police said.

The attacker is described as a 16- to 21-year-old Hispanic male, about 5 foot 6 inches, weighing about 140 pounds. He had short brown hair and brown eyes.
