Deputies Search for Armed Robbers in West Hollywood

Deputies continued their search for two suspected robbers who held two men at gunpoint Monday night in West Hollywood, authorities said.

The search began after three men robbed the victims near Sunset Boulevard and Hilldale Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

One of the victims was struck in the head with a pistol and suffered minor injuries.

Deputies began searching the area of La Cienega Boulevard, south of Melrose Avenue, aerial footage showed.

No residents were allowed in or out of the neighborhood south of Melrose Avenue to Huntley Drive as K9s aided in the search.

"We were just playing tennis down the block across from the Pacific Design Center when we heard sirens," Michael Beck said. "We heard from the helicopter saying, 'Please get inside. There's a suspect that's armed. Close your doors and windows.'"

One of the suspected robbers was taken into custody, deputies said.

LAPD joined the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department by 11 p.m.

Early Tuesday morning, two of the robbers remained at large, authorities said.
