Three men were critically hurt after they fell at a Southern California construction site Tuesday morning, fire officials said.

All three fell farther than 20 feet from scaffolding at a site on Witmer Street in Westlake, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Debris fell on them once they were on the ground.

Their conditions were "considered 'critical' due to height of fall, regardless of injuries," LAFD officials said.
