The home where Walt Disney and his wife spent their twilight years basking in the desert heat has sold for $865,000, according to the Orange County Register.
The sale came in under the asking price of $899,000, according to the Register.
Tucked on a quiet street in the hills, the four-bedroom, four-bathroom residence was constructed for Disney and his family at a time when Palm Springs was the playground of the stars and his TV show "Walt Disney Presents" transitioned to "Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color."
From the curb the home appears nondescript, but inside there are flashes of vibrant cartoon color in the furniture, wall art and rugs. The listing agent says the offer on the home included the purchase of the furniture.
The home was kept in the Disney family until 2015, and the current owners held on to most of the furniture and maintained the color scheme, according to the listing. Take a look:
