Spying a mondo-of-size interactive sculpture in the desert, say at Burning Man or the Coachella Music & Art Festival, is something many art fans have looked forward to in recent years. But seeing such a piece fluttering in the heart of downtown Los Angeles is definitely an unusual occurrence, one that gives pause, wonder and a surreal sense of outlandish whimsy in a spot where outlandish whimsy doesn't typically bloom.
