In an e-mail to NBCALA, she said, "I am facing west toward San Bernardino, and assume this funnel is over the eastern portion of San Bernardino. About 10 minutes before I noticed the funnel it began hailing like crazy straight down.

"I walked to the front of the house and noticed the funnel beginning to form. It dropped, then went back up a few times, then a huge bolt of lightning shot down and appeared as though it struck something, then the funnel lengthened.
