We don't get the opportunity to truck out the word "bounteous" all that often, but, when we do, we're often referring to the amazing vegetable garden scene come early August. For so many vine-growing, from-the-ground goodies are hitting their top forms as the eighth month begins, and devouring all of the zucchini we can, or luscious beets, beats leaving the vegetables to whither where they grew.
To celebrate this bounteous time of year, Salt & Straw is launching its "Eat Your Vegetables" ice cream series, a special pop-up for the month of August, on Friday, Aug. 3. The produce in each lickable scoop hails from a Southern California farm, and the flavors are as vibrant as a freshly plucked garden-grown treasure. One theme behind the theme?
