The man convicted of killing Kristin Smart, who vanished from a California college campus in 1996, has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.

Jurors unanimously found Paul Flores guilty of first-degree murder. He could face 25 years to life in prison when he is sentenced. NBCLA’s Conan Nolan reports.

The last man seen with Kristin Smart was convicted Tuesday of killing the college freshman, who vanished from a California campus more than 25 years ago, but his father was acquitted of helping him conceal the crime.

The incident which happened in 1996 has finally reached a conclusion as Paul Flores is found guilty.

Jurors have reached a verdict Monday in the trial of a father and son charged in the killing of Kristin Smart, who vanished from a college campus 25 years ago on the Central California coast.
