President John F. Kennedy traveled to Texas in November 1963 for five-city tour of Texas, an effort to shore up support in that state ahead of his reelection campaign in 1964. After visiting Houston, San Antonio and Fort Worth, he flew to Dallas, where he was going to deliver a speech at the Dallas Trade Mart. He never made it -- he was assassinated en route, as his limousine drove through Dallas' Dealey Plaza. Use this timeline to read stories and watch videos about the days leading up to the President's assassination, and the hectic days, months and years that followed.
