40-Foot Whale Stuck on Malibu Beach
This 40,000 pound juvenile fin whale washed up on a Malibu beach on Monday. Officials said they hoped to begin attempts to remove it on Thursday.

The huge carcass of a juvenile fin whale washed up on the shore near Point Dume on Monday, but by Thursday officials had still not towed it back out to sea or removed it.
