Themed hotels? We've seen stay-over spots with quirky rooms before, rooms that charmingly recall castle moats and Old West towns, but rarely has the space you sleep in been so fabulously filled with, well, space. And not just any space, but the vast and iconic cosmos of the "Star Wars" universe.
It was just revealed at D23 Expo over the July 14-16 weekend that Disney is working on a Walt Disney World resort inspired by the planets, people, and galactic adventures of the "Star Wars" stories, a hotel that will invite guests to enter a larger tale during their memorable stay.
That's right: This notion is going way beyond mints on the pillow at turndown, and fan reaction has been especially Force-ful. And it all makes beautiful sense, really, for the characters in "Star Wars" are forever on the move, and people who check into hotels have also typically traveled a distance, too.
But will you find the creatures from the Cantina hanging out at the Orlando destination, or Yoda, or some resident of Hoth? Well, you can't spell "hotel" without the letters needed to spell the name of that iconic planet, though what the ultimate inspiration will be for the sure-to-be-popular inn remains to be seen, it does. Excited, we are. Finish quickly, Disney, please.
