A wildfire near Castaic Lake north of Los Angeles broke out Saturday June 17, 2017 in an area with difficult access near 5 Freeway and Ridge Route Road. It started on a bank of Castaic Lake, and the cause is under investigation.
By Monday, firefighters gained ground on the wildfire, which burned 800 acres. Firefighters in boats were being transported across the lake to clear brush.
