Disneyland officials Wednesday announced plans for a new hotel, which is set to open in 2021.
The "Four Diamond" 700-room hotel will be in the west end of Downtown Disney and feature a direct route into the theme park via the Disneyland Monorail.
The hotel, which will have shops and restaurants on the ground level, will feature a water theme and connect all four of the theme park's hotels, according to the Disneyland Resort announcement.
"Extensive landscaping and water elements will create a resort oasis, showcasing nature on every level of the hotel," the announcement said.
Construction is expected to begin in the summer of next year. Disney says the hotel will generate about $25 million in new taxes in its first five years of operation that go to Anaheim's general fund.
Disneyland also unveiled a rendering for a new, 6,500-space parking structure that will be built in February 2018 in the Pinocchio parking lot next to Mickey & Friends.
